I am trying to finalize trimout plans for a 5" engineered floor glued onto concrete prior to starting. After reading many posts about the wood to tile joint, for a variety of reasons I really like the idea of using a sanded caulk to fill the small gap instead of using T-molds. The height of the wood and tile can be made to match during leveling. There are 5 doorways and an area in front of a fireplace where the wood and tile will meet. Some intersections will be perpendicular to the board length and some parallel.
Several posts make this sound doable, but don't go into enough detail to make me feel comfortable about the reduction in expansion gap space. What kinds of factors should I consider to decide if going the caulk route is feasible? I can provide more details as needed. Thanks for all the great information on this board.
