Not if your floor is a floating floor. That is usually only for a nailed down floor. All subfloors need to be stiff and stout enough with very little deflection.
Thanks Dennis, Gary....glad I asked that question! The subfloor is stout and pretty darn flat although I do have a couple of joist that have decided to misbehave slightly. And guess what..my corners are square and the walls are pretty much straight
how could I be so lucky!
