I recently installed an engineered hardwood floor, brazilian cherry, in my basement and was wondering if there are any issues with installing a wood burning stove near the hardwood floor?

I recommend you contact your local building dept. to find out what the local building codes are for a wood burning stove near combustable materials. IF I recall correctly, there must be a 24" hearth of non combustable material (brick, tile, etc.) between the face of the firebox and the start of any combustable material. And a 12" surround around the opening. Check with the building dept. or fire dept. for your local codes.

thanks for the reply, and I will check my local codes, but I was more concerned about the wood floor and side afffects (cupping/warping) of having something so hot close to it, besides catching it on fire. What would be your concerns?

You could experience a little shrinkage, gaps between the boards.
