Hi.. I live in New York and have a home that is on a concrete slab.
I am looking to put wood floors in a bedroom (the living room already has wood floors).... I am thinking of putting RedGard on the concrete, then cover it with a Vapor Barrier before putting down the plywood.......

I would like some feed back on doing this.... is there any disadvantage of doing both the RedGard and vapor barrier?

Also, should put the plywood directly over the vapor barrier or use strips??

Thanks,
Mike

m9hernandez, Redguard is for tile installations only....period! It is does not work with wood flooring adhesives. Redguard is not compatabile with moisture cure ureathane adhesives. Actually this product stops water from going INTO the substrate, not coming out of it.

If your doing a floater it will do nothing. What type of installation do you wish to do, gluedown or float?

Do a search here for "floating sub-floor".
