I am newbie laying down some 3/8" maple engineered flooring (approx 400 sq.ft.on concrete) and I have located some Stauf 960 put the total cost for me including their special trowels is going to be over 800 dollars. I thought at that price I might walk on the glue instead of the flooring. So, providing I don't need the moisture barrier (as I understand it I can find a test kit at Lowes/ Depot), which Bostik brand to get? Some like Bostik Best which others don't think is there best. I saw on another post that one member likes BST for its trowel ridges that it holds that helps bond the wood to the concrete. . Which I think will aid me in that my floor has one crack that I have grinded down to about an 1/8" out in 6 feet and my wife says that with the whole house covered in the fine dust we are ready regardless if the whole thing has pockets and feels like a floating floor :) . However, what about the TKO line. The product literature says that it cleans and holds a better edge than others and has antimicrobial...so has anyone tried this? I am skillful with my hands and patient but not so much that I want to fight and installation. Also must stay in budget. I am leaning towards Bostik BST but I would like to be talked into the easier troweled TKO. Neighbor who installed his floor accross the street says that the Bostik stuff is overkill and says he started with it but got the stuff from one of the big box stores and it was easy to work with and held up fine. Any help to set me straight will be appreciated.

Bostiks Best is only for gluing 3/4 solid. TKO is what I would use. I also like Dritac 7400. Stauf 930 is my all time fave.

Yes, it is OK, for engineereds, and thin solids.

I hope your substrate is very flat!!!! 1/16" in 10 feet if your using BEST

What about the Bruce engineered flooring adhesive? You can buy it around $75-80 for a big 4 Gallon container. I glued Bamboo down to concrete with it and it worked out quite well.

I personally won't use a waterbased acrylic on Bamboo floor.

I think the Bruce engineered adhesive I used for my bamboo floors was Everbond that came in the big plastic bucket.
