I've heard of wide hardwood flooring planks 8" wide but last night my son was telling me about 21" wide planks,do they really come in that wide? I would suppose something like that would be expensive,but something for me to think about when I start on my flooring this spring and summer in addition to siding I will be doing(It's great to be retired now )

yes you can get planks that wide..specialty mills..Carlisle i think does it as well others..just search it..

usually it is oak flooring as well.

Only for the faint of heart and a home that has indoor ambient controls to keep it exactly the same temperature and humidity as the day it was acclimated and installed.
