I am having Bruce 3/8 X 5 wide Northshore oak plank installed over parquet flooring. Bruce says not to staple over 3 1/4" wide. I think this floor should be stapled because its going over parquet. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Is the existing parquet flooring installed over concrete or a wood subfloor? You may need to lightly sand the parquet and use flooring adhesive as well as staples. With that wide and thin of floor, staples only will probably not ensure a solid feeling floor. It is also important that the existing parquet flooring be well attached to it's substrate.

The parquet is over wood and is secure. Would dropping down to a 3" wide help? Thank you.
