finally finishing my floor project (first room is finished and looks great - thanks for all the help).

Wide plank red pine is stapled and glued to sub floor and runs perpendicular to front door.

Should I butt the planks right up to the (metal) door frame (with a little expansion room) OR put in some threshold-type strip in front of the door and butt to that?

I am thinking about putting in some sort of threshold because I am concerned about a) giving myself easier access to front door if I ever have to replace it, and b) maybe preventing a little water damage to flooring (may be delusional).

thanks

sarah

Use an endcap transition. It has the profile of an "L" turned on its side.
