Hi there, I am in a panic.

I used a sponge with vinegar water to spot clean my recently refinished (water based) oak floors and now every spot looks like a white smudge.

Did i ruin my floors? any hope?
I have tried rubbing with water, doesn’t make any difference.

Here are the pics (scary!):

White spots usually mean that the finish has oxidized. Does the finish still look white if has dried completely? Sometimes it takes a day or two to completely dry out after cleaning.
Do you know what type or brand of finish was used?

Thanks for the reply!
The guys used Bona water based.
I have let it sit a week, was hoping time would help—unfortunately hasn’t.

2 part finishes are more chemical resistant than single component finish.. I would recommend a two part finish when you re-coat. Guys prefer the one part because there is a little more waste because of the pot life of a two part finish. It's worth paying extra. Bona has both.I wonder what Bona finish was used.
