I have just had 3/4" unfinished White Oak installed in my home by a contractor. Problem is after sanding and application of three coats of Poly, the floor shows major imperfections in the finish. There are alot of dips and imperfections in the grain of the wood giving it a "pocked" type look and not smooth as we had wanted.

I believe it was due to either not enough sanding, or more likely a low grade wood. I have not paid the contractor yet and would like some opinions.
