Which polyurethane would get the most color and grain pattern to show on solid Ash? Oil-based or Water-based?

Thanks.

An oil-based polyurethane will impart way more color and highlight the grain patterns than a waterbased poly will.

The water-based is much easier to clean up, and is truly crystal-clear.

The oil based gives a golden hue and is truly much harder after cure. I have tried both, and I always choose oil-based now, for the hardness factor.
