I am thinking of refinishing the floor in my house. I have decided to go with water-based PolyU finish, but can't decide between DuraSeal and Minwax. Any advice on which one I should use?

A local flooring store I went to suggested that I also use StreetShoe Finish in addition to two coats of DuraSeal/Minwax finish. Does that make sense?

Also, what is the advantage of using a Sealer? Thanks for your help...

Isn't DuraSeal, Minwax's commercial side for contractors.

Don't be a chemist with your floors. Stick with one finish manufacturer for the system to work right.

If you've narrowed it down to those two use the duraseal. Minwax poly has turned into low VOC garbage. Used to be a decent product now garbage. Duraseal is still available in 525 voc. It is not as good as it used to be but still light years ahead of the garbage you'll get off the shelf at the box stores.
