Just looked at a job where the step down room is half cement slab and half plywood over sleepers. So far , we're leaning towards a glue down application and to match it to the rest of the flooring , it's best if I can sand and finish it on site .

Just wondering who has an engineered or good glue down floor with a thick wear layer . Also, if I recall, I think a company called Arizona flooring or Arizona lumber used to do an engineered floor that is thickness sanded at the factory.

Paul, you mean the step down is below grade? I'd seriously consider a floating plywood/nail install if possible. There's a few presanded engineered out there but not enough. Did a TEKA 3/4 3 ply once in European white oak. Beautiful stuff outa Oregon lumber.
On those hald slab half wood substrates I worry about movement of the wood substrate verses the slab part. Like panelization along the slab line.
