I'm installing birch in my livingroom dining room and they connect to a family room which has a wooden ceiling. Will it be awful if I do not run in the same direction as the vaulted wooden ceiling? You can see the ceiling and the floor at the same time. If I didn't have this ceiling my preference would be the other direction.

Additional data. The living room and connecting dining room each have an angled wall.

Never thought of it before. Doesn't make a difference in my opinion.
