I'm getting ready to start laying my floor down this weekend. I don't know where to start the first row. I would like to frame around the fire place and run some transitions in the entry ways. Should I start at the fireplace a wall? or at the transitions?

Sorry floorplan did not work and I have No where to post a graphic

I always frame the fireplace first.

Thanks, I take it that the tongue will face out in all directions. I plan on a transition strip between rooms, so if the strips are running west to east from the fire place, how do I butt them up to the transition piece that is running south to north with the cleanest line?

Can you elaborate a bit more on this?

I have a fireplace, with ceramice in front but is layed right on the floor (not on a raised hearth).

I will be starting at the opposite corner of the house and finishing up at the fireplace...atleast that is what I am planning on.

But I am not sure how I will handle the wood butting up to the tile that is on the floor in front of my fireplace. Do I use reducers? Or if both floorings are at same height...could I use some T moldings?
