Where Hardwood Meets Carpet - Neet Advice

My entryway is hardwood with a step down to my livingroom which is carpet. What is the best way to finish off where they meet. Is it best to wrap the hardwood down to where it meets the carpet -or- paint the board that meets the carpet a neutral color?

i would do the riser in wood .

Your choice. The same as the step, or you can paint to match your trim molding color.

Yes, unless there is a physical step in place, rather than just an opening to the lower room, I would run the baseboard across that opening. I would also use a matching nosing at the edge of the opening, connected to the hardwood in the upper area.
