Thanks Steve,
I usually do not install home owner supplied flooring. However, this seems to be getting more popular around here now. I've been asked multiple times to install flooring already purchased by the homeowner. Usually, it is some lessor known brand. What I did with the LL floor is I re-wrote the contract. I specified that I did NOT warranty the product in any way nor did I warranty the installation for any damages due to moisture, use or abuse, wear and tear, etc. The LL floor was not bad. I thought the wear layer was too thin but the finish seemed good and the milling was fair. It stapled down just fine with no squeaks. If the customer has any problems with the floor, they would need to prove it was due to faulty installation practice. Since I installed it properly and by the book, they wouldn't win that one. The customers were nice and the job went pretty good. For their sake, I hope the floors hold up well for them.
