I just bought a house in Baltimore, Maryland that was built in 1926. And I am wonder what type of wood the floors are made. The boards are about 2"-3" wide and long in length. Anyone have a clue?? :?:

Anything could be on your floor. Even if there was a standard wood type laid down in all houses in that area and built in that time period, someone could have replaced it at a later date.

The only possible way to get a correct answer would be to post a picture or email me a sample piece. (insert grin here)

It is the same wood flooring that came with the house. My dad is cheap so I know he wouldn't change it. :D Anyway, I will post a picture tonight. Thanks.

Here is a picture of the floor. It isn't that clear because I took it with my phone.

hard to tell what you should do from one picture of one small area. you have to make that call based on what the whole floor looks like.
