I remember seeing a new flooring saw for contractors that both cross cuts and can work as a rip saw plus it has a vacuum attachment . What was it ? Thanks .

You mean the Skil 3600? It's not for 3/4 solid but works great on engineered.

Bummer. I saw another saw like it. Is there anything like that , that will cut 3/4 flooring ?

Edit: I just found this Ryobi Flooring saw. They claim it can cut 3/4 solid flooring . Any thoughts ?

Paul, I have seen the Ryobi. I thought it was the same amperage so I have my doubts about it's ability to cut through 3/4 solid for any length of time and not burn up. The only significant difference was the exhaust/vacuum tube was directed the opposite way. I liked that.

I also heard people were finding it impossible to get new blades for it.

I thought about it a bit and bought the Ryobi. It's not bad actually. It can't do any kind of crazy rips obviously but the motor seems to keep up when cutting through 3/4 oak. I don't cut super fast like many guys do so the motor can probably hang in there for me.But I'm sure if a guy slams it through boards fast, the motor would burn out.

One thing I don't like about it is that the tension between the guide rails and saw is high. There isn't any way to adjust it for smoother operation.Maybe some kind of teflon dry lube spray will help.

I tried my Skil on some 3/4 beech and it said no way lol.

I use silicone spray with teflon for my tools with rails. Seems to work ok without gumming up.

Oh BTW, Sears has a cheapy version of that auto switch so when you pull the trigger on the saw your vac automatically comes on. I love having it do that. Saves me so much time and back pain. lol

Awesome. I was meaning to get one of those switches. Where can you normally get a good one ? I don't see them locally.

Paul, This is the one I have, works great. Plus it has an extra receptacle to plug another tool into. I just bolted it to the back of my shop vac. They also make a lessor model for 10 bucks less...I decided to be a big spender

I meant to get one of those Ivac;s but when I was at Sears they had one for 19.95 and I cheaped out. I should have waited and bought the Canadian one. Mine pops circut breakers when running the Crain undercut saw when undercutting fireplace hearths. Not sure if the Ivac one does but I read in the reviews if you have 2 15amp tools running it will

15 amps is a lot for a handtool to pull...the supersaw has 11amps, the other Crains 6-8 or so, vacumes and such are a lot less. Coarse if you dont let the tool do the work...it will pull more amps.

My vac is 15 amps and the Crain 825 says 8 to 15 amps. I guess depending on the load like you say. Cutting through those river rock hearths really loads her up. I usually push it.
