Hi all,

I was thinking of installing wood floors in my home recently but I really don't have the time these days (my work requires a lot of travelling on top of that). I'm considering just paying for some new floors. What's a reasonable price range psf for new floors? If that's a bad question, what should I be asking/thinking about?

Thanks!

Prices vary around the country. I would get 2 or 3 bids from local reputable companies.

Well it all depends what type of wood your going to get.
You should get different bids

In my area turnkey floors will range from 5.00 to 8.00 on average. Depends greatly on what type of floor and type of install.

I will bet that our office gets at least 10 calls a day asking "how much for a new floor?" My stock response is "how much for a new car?"
Reason is this, everyone is aware that there is a huge range of pricing for cars, well that applies to hardwood flooring too.
Check out a few outlets (reputable of course) or even better, talk up your friends and neighbours to get some positive feedback on contractors they have hired or heard about.
