I am going to install a floating floor in a frog room which is carpeted. Would like to know if after removing the carpet can the floor be put down on top of the existing carpet pad?
Would appreciate any advice - Thanks

No, the carpet cushion is not acceptable. There are specific under cushions for floating flooring that are dense in construction, so there is no flex in the thin flooring.

Gee, I don't have a specific room for my frogs. I didn't know they needed one. Is this a new trend I am missing out on?

All kidding aside, floating floors require a specific pad. The manufacturer should either have their own brand for their product or recommend one. Carpet padding will not do.
