Several years ago, I hired someone to put refinish my floor with moisture cure. It needs to be screened and recoated (not refinished). Someone told me that once I use moisture cure, I must continue to use moisture cure, due to the chemical nature of moisture cure. Is that true? I'd like to know if I could use an aluminum oxide coating over a screened moisture cure finish.
If moisture cure must be used again, I'd like to put two or three new coats on. The work will be done in July 07 in the north east, where the temperature will be about 90 degrees F and the humidity will be high. According to Sherwin Williams "product information" literature for Rexthane (which is their brand of moisture cure), it may be recoated in
about 3 hours under those temperature and humidity conditions, which is fantastic (I'd wait about five or six anyway). Do you recommend
rescreening between additional coats?
Thanks.
