My question labels me as a novice. . . which I am. I see "hand scraped" labeled hard woods. What is the look of a hand scraped floor and can a DIY'er hand scraped flooring for a rustic look?

Hand scraped, as opposed to sanding. The surface of the boards are not perfectly flat, with hand scraping.

I always assumed hand scraped meant, for engineeered, prefinished wood: "A finger from a person's -hand- touched a button on a large machine which then scraped the surface of the wood to form a psuedo random scraping pattern"

I imagine true hand scraping wood which is finished in place looks much different then the engineered. For one, there would not be any micro-bevels between the boards.

There are companies that machine scrape, and it look uniform at times, but true handscraped is an art.
