I figured the lift was over a stretch like you described. Though it was funnier to think of it between two boards. :D
Congrats on the outcome, your tenacity certainly served you well.
Hopefully the sub will survive to create flawless work in the furture. If it doesnt take you out of the game it makes you stronger right?
I worked for a company for 8 months before I went out on my own. Many of us have had a floor gone bad, and the strong survive.

I cannot see a wood floor succeed under these dramatic conditions. I'm glad you hired an inspector and I hope he informs you that wood flooring in this environment is not a wise decision. Wood requires a stable environment.
