I made a huge mistake last night and want to know if there is a remedy. I have engineered prefinished ipe which didn't have quite the shine as I expected. So last night, I bought Halloway House Quick Shine after seeing pictures online.

The actual shine is what I like, unfortunately, I did it at night with all the lights on thinking that was sufficient. I cleaned/vacuumed/cleaned/vacuumed and cleaned again to pick up dog hair, put the dogs outside, and started and finished with the wax. The dogs came in an hour after I was done everything thinking that would be enough time (15-30 minutes on the bottle).

Well apparently I did a crappy job cleaning, let the dogs in too soon, or a combination of both. Now I have hair imbedded in to the floor everywhere. What is the best method for removing the wax for the 800sq ft area?

Or is it better to allow the wax to sit for a month or two and live with it before I remove the wax?

This is probably the worst section that you can actually see in the pictures (some paw prints and additional hair not imbedded)...

And not so obvious in the other pictures, but there is very small fine hair throughout...

The idea with waiting would only be to see how the halloway stuff wears and if I want to use it again. But if it will come up easier if I remove it quickly, I'll go ahead and do that.

Thanks for any tips/suggestions.

I'm not familiar with the Hollaway wax but usually more wax will lossen up the old wax. Do they have a 800 number? I guess it does nto say on the container.

One thing you could do is dye your dogs brown.
