I have cabin grade shorts in red oak. Lots of gaps nots worm holes etc. went to floor supply and was sold wood patch instead of wood filler. It seems this was incorrect based on some googling. Will this sand down ? Thicker in some areas than others. Seems when I try to get advice or have “professionals” do work on my remodel it’s a roller coaster of suffering and sweat… for me.

Patch, filler. Same thing in my opinion. Thicker in some areas? Was a trowel or putty knife or similar used? Once dried it will sand down.

Thanks for input. I was worried this was gonna be a nightmare to sand. It was installed with 6” putty knife. Took 45 minutes to do 100sq room. Was looking for better technique and that’s when I seen the difference in viscosity. Wood Patch is closer to sheet rock mud. Started thinking it was gonna take a lot of sanding to get off residual. Never finished flooring before. Only have orbital buffer sander.
