I agree, to a point. The homeowner should not "blindly" put faith in any contractor/workman. That's what references are about. The homeowner has a responsibility to hire a quality installer. If they hire just anyone without checking them out, who's at fault then?

Come on Floorguy, I hope you're kidding, or trying to give me a hard time. Acclimation is getting the new boards to the same moisture content as the house, roughly speaking, and it's determined by a moisture meter.

What makes you think that? Did you stick the wood with a moisture meter, and have a hygrometer while you were there.
