Greetings,

I got a great deal on 600 feet of this 3/8" bellawood. We moved a bunch into the house to acclimate, left a bunch in the back of the van and left some more in an unheated garage.

The first group had been acclimating in the heated house for over two weeks. Today I was ready to install it and as I laid down the first few pieces we could see slight warping. It was worse on the short pieces. The stuff in the house was just as bad as the stuff in the garage. I was ready to give up.

This wood had been removed because some of it had warped so i just assumed it was worse that we originally thought.

Then i check the pieces left in the van and they were flat.

So, my guess is that the house has more moisture than i thought. Does anyone think this wood might flatten out if get it more dry?

The warping is pretty slight, you can barely see it, but it shows when you hold two pieces back to back and rock them.

Most likely the opposite. The house is dry because of heat. Add moisture with a humidifier.

Warping is when the plank is laid down not all corners touch. Bowing is when the plank is shaped like a bannana and all corners touch.

Thanks. It is definitely warped and not bowed.

I brought a hygrometer to the house- only 30% humidity. The house is pretty tight and empty so not a lot of outside air is mixing in.

So does anyone think raising the humidity to around 60% will recover this wood?

Absolutely. But once stressed some planks may not recover fully.
