OK my mistake- decided to move out one more 5.5 inch plank without checking that section for level and about half (exposed in last row laid) a 47 inch plank is not fully adhering with the adhesive. The gap is small and trying at the edge of tolerance as far as manufacturer's 1/8 guidlines. I think I may have been a hair on the glue adding to the problem. Since I have access I was going to try and wedger up the board a hair and use a glue cartridge in my gun and see if that fills the void. Void between glue and board looks to be about a 1/16th, distance of void from wood to floor is 1/8th.
I know I should have inspected the entire floor, but I have a tight working area since I had to remove all my cabinets and did not check that last 5 inches for level.
So OPTION 1- TRY the cartridge adhesive? I can always tear out later if board does not firm up... board firmed up overnight and it seems as if I could shoot some adhesive in the trowel "gutters" and that would stabilize this side of the plank. IF the whole board was bouncy I would remove for sure, but with the ends and the back edge of the board secure I am thinking this fix just might work... or hoping...
or OPTION 2- tear out the offending board (or perhaps three as it's one of my longest lengths) Level that area and then try to redo that section?
Pros and Cons of both options appreciated, you can also tell me how stupid I am as well.. ;-(
Thanks in Advance!
