Hello,

We are getting ready to refinish the wood floor in our house. It is Beech and about 50 years old. It currently has a milky white stain of some kind that is worn to bare wood in many places. We plan to sand, fill the cracks then use 3 coats of clear semi-gloss oil-based poly.

Does anyone have any experience with Varathane Oil-Based Polyeurathane?

Thanks, Pete.

I'd avoid that product. Find a professional hardwood flooring distributor near you and purchase some professional floor finish. If you want an oil-based poly, consider Dura Seal, Woodline, Basic, Fabulon. There are others. If you want a waterborne floor finish, there are some good ones as well but more money. Basic's Street Shoe, Bona's Traffic are quite popluar and durable.
