hello

i have a barn that i am looking at putting a wood floor in. i would like to have wide planks so it looks like an old barn. i was looking a using a good grade of plywood and then cut them into 12" planks. Then put a good finish on top. My question is has anyone ever used plywood for flooring and what finish would you use. The barn is not heated in the winter and is located in Pa so we get some cold weather. The barn is going to be used for weddings and other events. Any help would be welcome.

thanks

Plywood is built in layers, when sanded you will sand into a different layer and peeling may start to occur. If you will have dances, the finish will wear quicker, it will need sanding more often. I would not recommend this at all. If it were my barn, I would use 2x12" pine plank, face nailed and set. Aggressively sanded.
