I have Mirage Engineered Hardwood Floors glue down in my living and dining room. It looks great but is very hard. (The subfloor is concrete.)

I am now thinking about putting in hardwood in the kitchen and family room. A recommendation was made to put in cork as an underlayment to soften the floor.

Does anyone have experence with cork as an underlayment for concrete for a glue down hardwood floor. Does it make the floor softer. (Is it as soft as a floated floor?.)

I've handled many floors for sound control using cork underneath hardwood but never noticed if they were softer. Maybe someone else has some numbers?

Anybody try this system?
It could be an answer.
