Just a few days ago we had hardwood floors installed. To say the least we were devastated the next day to see all the glue smuggies and fingerprints. We tried every solvent out there to remove them. Nothing worked. We were doomed to have them. There was no solution. My daughter suggested Mr. Clean magic erasers. It does work, its gonna be a lot of work a lot of elbow grease and a ton of erasers. Mind you its not going to remove them all and you will have to go over some spot several time. But you will have success.

Id be all over the installers and would be having them remove them or the boards they are on one let them pick. Glue goes on the subfloor not on the face of the floor pretty simple concept.

I agree with Kevin. There's also plenty adhesives out there now for sloppy installers that wont etch the finish.
