I am thinking about installing prefinished hardwood in my sons bedroom. If I go ahead with this project it would butt up to existing unfinished hardwood flooring in the upstairs hallway. Would this be an ok way to go. Would it present any special problems. I could match it up color wise ok but not exact. I think it would look ok but not sure. I'd hate to buy the materials put in the time and regret it. Any comments appreciated.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. No one else can tell you if this will bother you or if you will be satisfied with it. But since the hall needs to be finished anyway, why not install unfinished in the bedroom and have them finished the same?
