I removed the raised hearth from my fireplace and want to install a flat tile hearth. Unforturnately the hardwood floor (new oak hardwood) ends unevenly across the front where the hearth was removed. This was covered by molding (quarter round) around the raised hearth. Is there a way to cut a nice straight line across the ends on this laid floor? If not, what other options might there be to cover the unevenness and still have a flat hearth with the top even with the floor? Thank you, JoAnn

Skilsaw and a multifunction tool. I wouldn't advise doing the skilsaw unless your a skilled :P experienced tradesman.
