 Post subject: underlayment?

Hello everyone,
I have another underlayment question. I have 3/4 plywood subfloor and under all of my carpet I have 3/4 particle board (not osb). Question is do I have to remove the particle board to put down hardwood floor?

The short answer is yes. Particle board is not an approved substrate for a solid hardwood floor that will be mechanically fastened down.
