Just finished laying out my Eco silent sound HD underlayment but am a bit short and don't want to have to spring for a new roll. I have about a 7 inch border from wall. Since I haven't stapled it down yet I was thinking about leaving a 3-1/2" space on each side of the room.

Is that okay or am I being penny wise and pound foolish?
