Hi All. Finally getting around to finishing my upstairs and decided to put wood flooring instead of carpet. I've done a little research but don't know a lot about the underlayment. My room is approx 700 sq. ft and upstairs and a wooden floor. From reading, I've been told it's best to nail down to help with the creaks, etc. I know that nailing down will transfer the noise to downstairs but I would still like to put an affordable underlayment that helps reduce the noise. I looked at Lumber Liquidators and they have told me the eco silent is the best option out there. Can anyone comment on it or suggest something better? Thanks for all your help.
