I was going to attack my door jambs this weekend with a hand saw in preparation for my 3/4" t&g maple flooring which will be here tomorrow. I saw this 3" air high speed cutter in a Harbor Frieght e-mail and thought that with a little shim, I could use that to undercut my door jambs pretty easily. Sure, it's an abrasive wheel, not a little saw wheel, so it isn't perfect. But with the 25 grit wheel, I'd have to figure it would go through 7/16 casing like butter. I would hold it vertically with the wheel horizontal at the bottom and attach some shims so it would cut at the exact height for all of the doors. For $6.99, it's worth a shot for me.

Here's the link: http://www.harborfreightusa.com/usa/emails/display.do?fname=28_retailB.html

I'll let you guys know how it works out. The coupons expire next Wednesday, so I thought I would throw it out there now.

And thanks to everybody on this board. Although I have only posted one question, I've read just about every post from the past two years on this site and learned a lot.

Have a great weekend!

-Chris

For $6.99 why not give it a try. I have several HF items and they work just fine for the average DIY'er.

If you do, let us know how it worked out.
