Hi..

Im currently looking at installing hardwood in my family room. There is a Lumber outlet in New Hampshire called Uncle Hilde's near me. I was wondering if anyone had any experience dealing with this store, good or bad. The prices seem lower than Home Depot, Lowes, and even Lumber liquidators. The showroom and people seem very nice but I am a bit nervous since there is not a lot of information on them from builders or anyone who has bought flooring from them. I also think the flooring is sold under their own name.

I would appreciate any feedback if anyone has had any experience working with them and the products they sell.

Thanks

I am in the process of installing some Sierra Hickory that I boutght there. The reason that the price is lower is because most of the flooring they sell is utility grade or second quality. I have some boards that have been mis-milled or have blemishes in the finish, but overall the quality of the wood seems fine. It may have large color variations, similar to the pic above behind the site name. The sales staff seemed knowledgeable, but I am definitely not, so take that for what it is worth.

Thanks... I was actually looking at the Hickory and it seemed nice, but who knows once you get it out of the box over many boxes. As you go through the install and you have additional thoughts, if wouldnt mind posting them, I would appreciate it. They seemed to have a lot of it at least in the Merrimack store.

I also looked at the Santos Mahogany, which I guess is Select. I have about a month to decide so Im not in a rush but would like to settle on where and what to buy.

Thanks again.
