Any of you guys use this setup? I have been told it cuts like a banshee.

I had one guy that works on equipment tell me that you can rough cut a job and then put the big machine away if you have the UFO buffer.

I think you can buy it as an attachment. I'm not sure about that, though.

US Sander makes that and it is available as an attachment. It has a tube for dust collection. I don't believe US Sander makes the claim that it takes the place of your floor sander but being an weighted orbital drive unit, they do say it can sand very aggressively. They would never let me just try one and return it if I didn't like it. They wanted me to buy it with no return option if it didn't work out for me, all on their "promise" that I'd just love it. That didn't set well with me, especially since it cost nearly $1,500.00. Perhaps they have changed their policy. There are other sanders going to the orbital principal, Clark's 3Ds, Lagler's Trio, the SuperBee, are a few examples. But my hats of to US Sander for inventing a buffer attachment with orbital action. Just not sure it's worth it!

Yes.
It would cost a plenty to find out if you like it. I have heard positive things about the Oreck too.

Thanks,
CHU

Bottom line the ufo ROCKS, My first intro to one was about 3 or so years ago. My old boss brought it to a job and said we would'ld have to edge anymore. Welll that never happened but it will take your stop line from the big machine out like nothing. drum marks in the middle no problem with a bit of work, Even poor edging. If you have a parqut or herringbone floor you never have to worry about cross grain marks.
It is a heffty cost but well well worth it. I think we paid about 1150.00 from Hoboken Floors.
