A guy I work with here in North Idaho, Don Stinson. Business name is Accurate Router Service a.k.a. Excellence Inlays.
www.excellenceinlays.com
He doesn't mass produce pieces but works with costomers one at a time on thier ideas to produce what they want. We are the only HW floor company up here he refers people to and we thank $$$ him in return. He also cuts inlays for us at wholesale for our customers too. He helped us get our biz off the ground last year by hooking us up with our best client Aspen Custom Homes.

Heres the bear we put in an on site hand scraped birch floor stained Early American also in the parade of homes in 2004. It was a picture faxed to him from the customer in California. She got to pick most of the species in it herself. Measures about 43" diameter in thier entryway

Another parade home, floor is 5" beech with acid cure finish.
Inlay border is walnu. field is poplar, horses are oak, butternut, and rustic maple (looks like a pinto)
Don does some cool things with his router table. Mostly aluminum machining etc. even cuts parts for Cobra Helicopters for the Army but enjoys wood working best.
Feel welcome to contact him any time (website at the top or on my description), tell him William sent you, fax him your ideas, and away you go ... not to mention his prices are perfect.
does all inlays with 1/4" mat'l mounted on plywood for you to have 3/4" thickness. Un- finished or with some poly applied, your choice. I've had no problems ever with sanding them after installation with my Hummel. He'll even send the templates needed.
Check this last one out that got best floor on the parade in 2003
Totally custom concept by the builder's Wife. The inlay and the picture she drew for him to duplicate....COOL!
