I need advice and am hoping this is the place to go. I have a house built in the mid 50's. I have one room that is causing me issues on what to do. I pulled all the carpet out of the house. The room causing me issues also had linoleum. I pulled that off best I could. What is now left is a think white linoleum adhesive. I tried sanding it like I had two other rooms. That lessened the thickness of the adhesive. Basically I am left with splotches of white adhesive throughout the room and I am pretty sure I saw on youtube someone using white vinegar all over the floor and scrubbing the adhesive off, the video was not very detailed and I really want to make sure using vinegar this way won't do any damage to the hardwood. This one room is slowing me down very sanding, staining all the hardwood flooring in my house. Any comments and/or advice would be appreciated.

Use another coarse sand paper to get the last of the adhesive off.
You will be wasting time using vinegar to help scrub any adhesive except fresh epoxy from a floor. Vinegar will dissolve fresh epoxy. I use it to clean my hands after filling holes with epoxy/wood flour putty using a putty knife.
