Anyone have good or bad experiences to report with Trillium Flooring - distributed from Quebec but apparently manufactured in China. Appears to have a decent layer for refinishing if necessary but not sure of the actual ease of installation or how the product is after it has been installed.

I'd be wary of any manufacture who sets up in bordering countrys wanting to export to the US. That makes it more difficult to hunt them down if theres a problem. Stick with Local Canadian manufactures or US manufactures. Theres usually a reason they dont set up shop here. Plus I never heard of them.

The only Trillium Flooring I am familiar with in Canada is distributed by Home Depot. It is an engineered product utilizing the "Uniclic" joint for easy installation.
This floor sells for about $5.79 CAD per sq. ft. on average, which seems excessive to me.
For less money you could use the Mirage product and have a top quality floor with a manufacturer standing on it with you.

Not to change the subjest but some lady just called me wanting a semi-quote, she's got a price from HD on aome engineered Pecan...5.69 a sf installed. I told her just install 3.50 with fitty cents for minor floor prep and trowel down moisture retarder (she supplies). Said I was way outa the ball park. HUH??

I told her good luck with that. So 2 bucks for real wood, must be some really cheap stuff. Get what ya pay for.

I've layed approximately 400 square feet of this so far. The firsrt room I did was very easy and the stuff clicked together no problem. The second was the hallways and this box went together with a little more difficulty. It is still the easiest DYI installed flooring material I've used to date. I will continue to install it in my home. It looks great.
