 Post subject: Trick for glueing in mouldings

Instead of running around looking for books, etc... for holding trims down, try a few well located dabs of hot glue. Basically you apply adhesive as you would normally, just leave a few small voids for the hot glue.

The hot glue works quite well, just don't expect miracles. It needs a cleaner surface than construction adhesive, and is not High Strength! Most of the trims we work with are straight (Mercier and Mirage), so I don't know how well it'll work with a badly bowed piece. We did add some books to one installation "in case" the hot glue failed, but it didn't and the mitre stayed tight.
