Your site says that "only five years ago when trichlohydrates were commonly used" in the glue used to glue down hardwood floors. I need to find more information on allergic/toxic reactions to this. WHen I do a google search only your site comes up.

We have glue down bruce hardwood floors we installed over a 2 year period about 5 years ago. Presently our 5 yr old son is having reactions to something in our environment. It looks like our 2 yr old is also reacting. Recently someone mentioned floors to me which is how I found your little bit of information. We plan on moving as soon as possible. But I need to try and track this information down so we do not find ourselves in the same situation again.

Thank you

trichlohydrates

Probably our site only because I never knew how to spell it right(unfortunately I still don't ), but those older adhesives were real brain cell killers. Once cured I don't think there was any off gassing, or I didn't notice it, but everybody is different. I don't think it is available anymore...anybody know?

It won't work against the adhesive company simply because the adhesive only off-gases while wet.

You may wish to contact an indoor air quality inspector and have tests to find out what is in the house that may be causing the allergies.

The Carpet and Rug Institute Study of Indoor Air Allergies concludes that two main issues affect the Indoor Air Quality.
1. Exterior Air.
- Where you live, the outdoor poor air may be trapped indoors and recycled by the heater/air unit, Thus increasing in parts per million.
2. People and products within the home, combined with mold/mildew growth. Maintaining Relative humidity below 60% is important.
