I like your idea. I'm going try to use a 3/4 reducer and remove the bottom edge of the groove side and cut a narrow strip which can shim up the one edge. I'm also going to try your suggestion of using 5/4 stock to make my own. Would give me a good excuse to buy that Milwaukie router and table that I've been eyeing.
