I purchased a used Tramex Professional MM. It is the pin type. It did not come with instruction manual unfortunately.

If I turn it on and then stick it into the subfloor it will always give me a reading. It is reading 7.5 or 8.5, can't remember right now. But the problem is when I stick it into my hardwood, it never gives a reading. I am installing maple and oak both. Neither of them will give a reading.

Any ideas? Suggestions? It has the two pins attached to the unit. It also came with a corded pin that I have not tried yet.

Thanks,
Keith

That meter will not read below 6. It could be your wood is drier than 6%. Have you tried it on other woods?
