My husband recently stained our floors then applied two very thin Bona Mega coats. A few small spots were not properly stained and are too light and noticably uneven. We need to apply two more Bona Mega coats. Before doing so, I was wondering if I could spot treat by lightly rubbing on stain, rubbing off the excess, and letting it dry five days before roughing up the floors for the next coats of Bona Mega. Our stain was Minwax Wood Finish Penetrating Stain.

This may help, but you can use powdered colors to mix with finish, too.
