I have a one inch height gap between and existing hardwood floor and a new marble tile floor. I can't find any standard reducers high enough for my gap. Does anyone have any suggestions for a threshold solution? Thanks.

Unfortunately I asked the same question a couple weeks ago and go NO response from anyone on this board. I am grateful for a lot of the info on here and it has helped me a lot but no one will respond to this.

I bought red oak to the heighth that I needed to match to and bought an amana router bit that would give me the desired 45 degree angle. I basically made my own trim piece.

Well, you can buy a 1 x 4 or 6" in the same specie(if possible) and create your own threshold with a table saw. You could either make an overlap reducer (if the marble isn't cut straight) or a one sided reducer. 1x's are 3/4" in thickness so you'll have to do some creative beveling with the table saw to make it "reach" the marble height. Finishing to match is the next quest. A natural product will be much easier. Stained will require some experimenting.

thank you ken. I can't believe I didn't think of the table saw. That would be much easier.

there are t molding out there that will work , less effort, yes they are raw but do the job ,on slabs we offten put down a solid , which meens ply wood under it , and this most of the time meets tile , 3/4 to 1 inch differnce , these moldings work and are fairly cheap, and look and feel as they should
